Francesco Yates is on everyone's radar right now and will soon be on yours too. The hair, the voice, the soul... There's so much to love!
He's a 20 year-old Toronto musician, who's been working alongside Grammy-winning producer, songwriter, and artist Pharrell Williams. Francesco doesn't seem one bit phased by the fame and truly is an old soul. Check out some of the interviews he's done, especially the one he did with the ladies at The Social. He's incredible! Francesco is often compared to Justin Timberlake, and I can see exactly why after I gave his new EP a listen. The self-titled EP 'Francesco Yates' was released this past Friday, and man was it impressive! There are six tracks, including his most famous singles 'Call' and 'Better To Be Loved' (my favourite). My new favourite song by Francesco Yates would have to be 'Honey I'm Home' after I discovered it on iTunes home page. He could easily be mistaken for JT. Go give it a listen here, and comment below your thoughts or tweet me @MissSaverinaS! Ahhh it's finally Friday, which means a crazy fun and exciting weekend awaits.
Tomorrow, one of my closest friends is taking the plunge and I get to play bridesmaid - it's insane how quickly these last couple of years have flown by. It will without a doubt be incredible and unique (if you follow me on Instagram, I posted a couple of shots from the Gatsby-themed shower). Tonight we are getting ready and have the rehearsal dinner, then it's off to the races! Can't wait! On Sunday, I get to celebrate my cousin's engagement party. Remember that cute picture I posted on social media of the box asking me to be a bridesmaid? That was from her and her future husband. It'll be a blast spending the day with friends and family - the party never stops when we're together. Finally, on Monday, I will be attending the book launch of The Illegal written by Lawrence Hill (best-selling author of The Book of Negroes). I'm pretty sure I'm ready for all of this fun, I've been doing my best to stay healthy so that I can be 100% present over the next few days. Make sure to follow me on Instagram and Twitter to get exclusives from the launch event, and I might even share a couple of pictures from the wedding and engagement party. What are you up to this weekend? I don't know about you, but I am very tempted to head to Toronto and stalk celebrities for the next couple of weeks. Why? The Toronto International Film Festival starts today and lasts until September 20th. Can I get a woot woot? To celebrate, here are 5 movies that I'm looking forward to reading about (I'm not the age of majority until the 26th so I had to skip out on TIFF this year): 1) Black Mass: I've seen too many articles about this. My curiosity has gotten the best of me with this pick. Also, Fat Johnny Depp. 2) Colonia: Because Emma Watson is in it - duh! 3) The Danish Girl: Eddie Redmayne plays a transgender character. End of story. It's probably going to get some sort of acknowledgement in the form of awards. 4) Demolition: Jake Gyllenhaal. Need I say more? 5) The Dressmaker: I think we've established that I am a star-studded film lover. One For Good Luck - He Named Me Malala: This doc will more than likely be life changing and should be viewed by the entire world.
And there you have it - what I'm looking forward to the most about TIFF. What celebrities/films are you looking forward to seeing? Will you be attending? Comment below or tweet me @MissSaverinaS! You're totally lying if you say you don't have a crush on Queen Elizabeth II! She's seen so much since she ascended the throne 63 (holy cowabunga I know) years ago.
Today, Queen Elizabeth II surpassed Queen Victoria's long reign which is a pretty freaking big deal and why she is my #WomanCrushWednesday. Sure, you'll see some articles today focusing on the negatives, but the majority of journalists are praising her for lasting this long. I truly believe that she's not going to leave that throne until the day she dies. I mean she's 89 for crying out loud, clearly she has no plans of going anywhere anytime soon. You may disagree, but I think that Queen Elizabeth II rules with class and style ( yeah, yeah, none of that stuff really matters) and a lot of people aspire to be in her position - which they'll never get because there's a long line of people ahead of them. What do you think of Queen Elizabeth II's big milestone? Think she's leaving the throne anytime soon? Comment below or tweet me @MissSaverinaS! Dear parents, teachers, and students: I get it - it's the first day of school. Congratulations on starting a new school year, and thank you for filling my social media feeds with cute pictures of your lil' ones returning back to school with captions like "where has the time gone?" or "my girl/my boy". I really appreciate it.
However, I'd like to share what it's like to not participate in the back to school movement. It's. So. Freaking. Nice. Right now, I'm sitting here writing this post in my workout clothes, messy hair, no-makeup, and I'm eating Frosted Flakes. Delish. On Sunday night, I parted with my high school uniform (ick), by burning it. I know I could have donated it (I am going to donate the pieces that I didn't burn back to my school), but sometimes you just need to see your past turn into ashes. I highly recommend doing it to any Grade 12 students. It's kind of therapeutic even if those four years were the best years of your life (which they were). So there you go, a look into my first day in the real world - not like you really wanted to know what it's like. To be honest, I didn't know what else to write about, but thanks to all of your back to school posts I was inspired to write this. What was your most memorable first day of school? Any embarrassing pictures? Feel free to comment below or tweet me @MissSaverinaS! |
