Diverse is the word that I would use to describe the 2016 Screen Actors Guild Awards. They were so diverse that I dared to think for a moment that there was some kind of conspiracy behind the winners list considering the tension in Hollywood post-#OscarsSoWhite, but I am not going to entertain that thought because I am better than that. 

For fashion, the "Jolie leg" is in and prints of any kind are out. I had the same outfit as Nicole Kidman when I was 6. Check out the best and worst dressed stars below.

The great thing about the SAGs is that there is not host which makes the show an hour shorter and means that I'll be in bed before 3am (writing two recaps is both exciting and tiresome). They just get down to business a.k.a. hand out awards. 

Now before we talk winners, I need to let you all in on a little secret. I think Mr. Robot's Rami Malek is a total dreamboat. Take a minute to admire him, but remember that he's mine as you proceed to read the important part of this post. 

I have to get this exciting news out of the way or else I'll burst... LEO WON AGAIN! This means he's heading towards an overdue and well-deserved Oscar victory. If he doesn't win, all hell will break lose. Brie Larson also continued her 2016 award season winning streak making it more likely than not that the Best Actress Oscar has her name on it. Speaking of Brie and Room, her pint sized co-star Jacob Tremblay is adorbs and needs to quit killing the world with cuteness. 

The Oscars for Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Supporting Actress could be anyone's game considering the inconsistency in winners this season. Tonight, Idris Elba took Best Supporting Actor (not nominated for an Oscar, but Sylvester Stallone and Christian Bale have taken the award home at the last two shows), Best Supporting Actress went to Alicia Vikander (her competition is Kate Winslet), and Best Picture went to Spotlight for the second show in a row (it's competition is The Revenant). 

It is known that whoever and whatever wins a SAG ends up winning an Oscar. I mean, the SAG/Academy have only disagreed on Best Actress 6 times in 21 years. Crazy. 

The TV categories were more fulfilling in terms of diversity with Uzo Aduba and the Orange Is The New Black cast, Queen Latifah, Viola Davis, Jeffrey Tambor, and Idris Elba winning hardware. Their speeches were very memorable and inspiring for minorities and aspiring actors and actresses pointing out that it's okay to be different and to go for whatever it is you dream of doing. Also, Queen Latifah doing arm curls with her SAG was EVERYTHING.

This article was originally meant to be featured on The Huffington Post, but they wouldn't publish it do to the fact that it is controversial. So, instead of leaving it in the vault, I'll leave it here. 

Don’t get your panties in a knot, I am writing this with good intentions. I think there is a whole lot of tension happening ever since #OscarsSoWhite crapped all over the World Wide Web.
 
Sure, I am white, so my opinion may be considered invaluable in this situation. But I am crazy passionate about all things entertainment news and pop culture and this falls under one or both of those categories.
 
The #OscarsSoWhite convo was one that needed to be had, but people (specifically Al Sharpton, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Spike Lee, 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg) are taking it to a whole other level – boycotting my favorite award show is not an option. Sorry I am not sorry.  I understand that the blacks struggle everyday to be included in the entertainment realm (along with people of other ethnicities), but it is not just happening in the industry. This is happening everywhere, every day.
 
I do not think this is a matter of racism. Christ, the president of the freaking Academy is black! The host is even black – as of right now Chris Rock is supposed to host, but the people above are suggesting he skip out.
 
 Sure, Michael B. Jordan (Creed) and Will Smith (Concussion) should have been nominated for Best Actor. Will was nominated for the prestigious award at all of the other award shows, but seemingly excluded from the Academy Awards. There 1 million percent needs to be changes made within the Academy and its selection process. However, I just do not understand the need to boycott the show.
 
With my luck, the Oscars are going to get cancelled. Yes, I am being selfish. No, that is not why I wrote this. My point is that I do not think the Academy Awards exclusion of black talent was on purpose or done to hurt people. Maybe some of you will agree, while the rest of you will be hunting me down to tell me how wrong I am.
 
I just hope that everything will work out and we can all go back to our same old boring lives as soon as possible. In the meantime, help an award season lover out and #PrayForOscar.

The big questions that everyone has been asking themselves post #OscarsSoWhite is should Chris Rock stick around to host the controversial award show? 

The Smiths (Will and Jada Pinkett) and Spike Lee are boycotting the show but advise against pulling out of hosting, meanwhile 50 Cent isn't feeling it and thinks Chris should skip it. Oh, and in case you don't know what #OscarsSoWhite is all about: For the second year in a row, there aren't any blacks nominated in the leading categories. This could really go both ways. Either there were really great performances by individuals in the industry who happen to be white, or the Academy is racist. 

Sure, Michael B. Jordan (Creed) could have probably been nominated for Best Actor, but I can't think of any other black actors/actresses that could be nominated. See, if Chris Rock hangs in there, he has all of the power to say whatever he wishes. He could use this opportunity to make a difference and call the Academy out if it does turn out that #OscarsSoWhite is on purpose. This could be one for the books. And we all know that Chris isn't afraid to hold back, he even called the Oscars "The White BET Awards" via Twitter.

Hold on, I need a minute. Just one more minute. Screw it, I'll never be truly ready to digest what just went down. The 2016 Critics' Choice Awards were nothing like what I expected. They were slightly better than the People's Choice Awards (safe to say that the critics are wiser than the people) but not as great as the Golden Globes. The award show certainly changed things up for the rest of award season. 

The fashion was nothing to talk about so I'm not going to waste your time. No, really. Everyone's outfits were pretty hideous. 

The show's host, T.J Miller did an okay job. I would give him a 5 out of 10. Even he acknowledged the fact that Amy Schumer is funnier than him. Speaking of Amy, she won the Critics' Choice MVP award! The only thing that sucked about that is Judd Apatow was the one presenting it to her. I hate that guy. He's so pretentious and sexist. Ugh. But it was about Amy, not him. I can suck it up. 

Ultimately the best moment of the night was when Room's Jacob Tremblay won a Critics' Choice Award for Best Young Actor/Actress. So freaking adorable (and that's coming from someone who thinks children are walking and talking germs). He started off by saying that it was the best day of his life and it was so cool. 9-years old and he already has a Critics' Choice Award. This kid is going places and will probably never live down the time he melted everyone's heart. 

The winners were shocking. I was slightly panicked because Leo was nowhere in sight but Matt was. Turned out all was well and he accepted the award from Europe. Phew. 

Mad Max: Fury Road was greedy taking home almost every award. I don't want to talk about it because it makes me want to cry. 

Rachael McAdams gave Kate Winslet a run for her money winning Best Supporting Actress and I am totally okay with it. Since the beginning of festival season, I was rooting for Spotlight. I was in luck last night because it took home awards for Best Ensemble and Best Picture. 

I restored my faith in The Big Short's Oscar winning abilities when they took home Best Comedy. It's the only film that I would be totally okay if they won big over The Revenant, just as long as they let Leo win an Oscar for Best Actor. 

The odds are in everyone's favour for the SAGs which is kind of unusual considering that the Critics' Choice normally echo the Golden Globes and then the rest of the award shows follow suit. Not this time though.
