The original comedy web series My Roommate's an Escort will be premiering on YouTube this Monday, April 3rd. You may recall the time when I flooded all of your social media feeds with pictures from their fundraising gala where I did some red carpet interviews. Well, now we'll be able to see the final product and I had the opportunity to chat with creators and stars Trish Rainone and Katie Uhlmann (also served as the director). Check it out: How does the process behind making a YouTube series compare or differ from making a TV series? We have only ever been hired as actors for television series so we can only compare it from that perspective. As an actor, the work is very similar regardless of the medium- you do your best to understand the character, learn your lines, and show up on time! In terms of being the co-creators of My Roommate's an Escort, it has been a very rewarding process. This is the first show we have ever created, and the wonderful thing is that with the internet, we don't have to ask for permission to show people our work. We're excited to put it out there and hopefully make at least a few people laugh, we know our moms will in the very least! What have you learned about yourselves and your craft through doing this? We've learned that hard work pays off. A lot of people have told us along the way "that won't work," referring to every step of the process. The truth is, if you really commit and don't give up, anything is possible. The harder you work, the luckier you get. We've worked really hard as writers- a skill that we continue to hone, but we both realized we have a passion for writing comedy. We also have a great writing dynamic, and have laughed harder throwing around crazy ideas for this series than we would have ever expected. Why should people watch My Roommate’s An Escort? People should watch My Roommate's an Escort, because it only takes one hour to watch the entire series, and it's also really fun, if we do say so ourselves! At the heart of it, we explore the lives of two roommates who have polar opposite values and the chaos that ensues. Living with other people under the same roof, whether it be family, friends, or someone you met online, can be difficult- you really get to know someone when you share a home with them. We think it's a relatable concept, and we hope that you can laugh with us! Good luck ever sleeping again!
The trailer for the new It movie has been released featuring all of my biggest fears. I'll probably still go see it for the sake of hopping on the bandwagon and because I enjoy torturing myself. Stephen King has always been great at terrifying us all. The story follows seven children who are being terrorized by this monster that will transform into whatever you're afraid of. The catch is that only children and those who believe in "it" can see it. Anyone else find that they're most motivated to take control of their health at the beginning of the month?
Now that April is only a few days away (where did the time go?), I've been creating new workout playlists on Spotify and making a new workout plan. I'm a sucker for those "celebrity favourite workout" videos on YouTube, so this month I've created a playlist of workouts I want to incorporate into my plan including JJ Dancer Method (Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Nicole Scherzinger's fav) and Body By Simone (Juliane Hough, Jennifer Garner, VS models' fav). I am a self-professed entertainment news junkie so this shouldn't come as a surprise. Also, it's important to feel confident and interested in whatever activity you choose to do in order to break a sweat. I feel like these workouts are going to be a game changer. Also, nothing feels better than changing the songs you listen to. I will be continuing reviewing healthy recipes for my Kitchen Virgins blog post series on Healthy Is Hot. It's help me become more comfortable in the kitchen and understand that I am in full control of what I'm putting into my body. What will you be changing up in April to lead a healthier lifestyle? Finally, things have seemed to cooled down for the Jolie-Pitt family. It's hard to believe after a very nasty and public split between the former Hollywood power couple (Brad Pitt was accused of abusing one of their children on a plane and was later cleared by the FBI).
Sources claim that Brad security joined Angelina Jolie and their six children in Cambodia and that the kids split their time between the two parents - so I guess he didn't really join Angelina Jolie, just their kids. There was mention that Angelina had them 75% of the time and Brad had them whenever he wasn't shooting. Now, these are "sources" coming out with this information so I am questioning how true this all is. I am hoping, for the sake of the kids, things are working out between Brad and Angie in terms of communicating with each other and taking care of their family. I can say with 100% confidence that I don't see them getting back together. It'd be hard to take back what was said and done in the media when they first split. What are your thoughts? Happy #MusicMonday! Here's my latest Q&A with Hamilton artist Tim Gibbons (TG Swampbusters) about his new album Swamp Rock Country Blues. Take a listen to his music and learn more here.
Check out the interview below: How does the thought process change with each album you put out? The thought process is a continuance of the weather. If it's too cold I stay in bed. If it's blustery then i feel more R&B. Hot sunny days means it's likely to be songs about boozing and chasing dames. What is the inspiration behind this album? The inspiration for the Swamp Rock Country Blues recording is a look back to my earliest roots. Hank Williams country, Chuck Berry's rock and roll and the blues of my favorite blues performer Lightnin' Hopkins. Can you tease what's next after this? I think TG Swampbusters need to go acoustic for the next bit. Something quiet and woodsy yet still funky. |
