Marianas Trench lead guitarist Matt Webb recently released his new solo single and music video "Again and Again" and I was lucky enough to chat with him about the inspiration behind it as well as his hopes going forward. Check out our Q&A below: What is the inspiration behind “Again and Again”? Again and Again was a collaboration between myself, superstar producer Kevvy Maher, and pop guru Mathew V. We sat in the studio together, laughing our asses off at each other’s life stories and identified some shocking similarities between the three of us. We all continue to make bad decisions again and again. The result was this song. Bad decision? You tell me lol. What did you learn about yourself while making this video? Well, I already knew I couldn’t dance, or act… so I left that to the professionals. I can wear a mean coat, however. And apparently I don’t know how to hold an iPhone properly. How do you hope people will feel while listening to this single? I wanted to create a soundtrack for some late night drives, personal reflection time or just a general bedroom dance party. Whatever tickles your fancy. I hope it makes you feel good. Social Media Handles:

I caught up with her ahead of her next show at Lula Lounge in Toronto on July 19th. Check it out below: How does one get in touch with their sensual self? I am naturally and sensual person but everyone needs to rev their juju sometimes. One at a time I wake up my senses... I'm pretty sure I have a bionic nose so it is extremely important to surround myself with pleasing scents - lotions, body washes, perfumes, incense and fresh beautiful flowers make my day. I flood my eyes with beauty by going to galleries, plays and as many theatre shows I have time for. My book shelves are loaded with collections of PinUp illustrations, erotic art books and photography by geniuses like Helmut Newton. Music and food bring me as much pleasure but dancing, teaching and connecting with other fabulous women in my burlesque classes gives me the strongest connection to my inner Goddess. What are your hopes for your show at Lula? Love Letters Cabaret presents a new Knockout Burlesque show monthly and I'd love to fill it with new audience members who are craving a luxurious performance with world class entertainment and a naughty sense of humour. Those who are already in the know attend the performances religiously and we always have a fabulous time. I have so many beautiful creatures to introduce to the stage that I dream to have a cabaret house of my own in Toronto to turn this into a weekly affair for the world to see. Why should be people come out and see it? It's a glamorous night of showgirls, glitter and surprises so if you want to dazzle a date or party with your squad, this is the only burlesque review where you're going to see professional talent whose collective credits include The National Ballet of Canada to Degrassi TNG to Lady Gaga. We've all performed with the best of the best - you should check it out. |
