 A lot of celebs have gone the all natural route with everything from what they eat to their cleaning products. I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Shelby Cook, founder of Spiffy Naturals, during my time as assistant producer of Cable 14's lifestyle show Hamilton Life. Her love for her business and positivity is infectious. Check out my Q&A with her below: Was there something specific that inspired you to create Spiffy Naturals? Haha yes there was an aha moment forsure! The first moment that really sparked the idea was when I watched my local juice bar tossing their citrus rinds in the trash. So to give you an idea as to why they were doing this, the juice bars produce a massive amount of compost and the city has limitations on how much you can dispose of each week. I think everyone will be happy to hear that now I take almost all of their citrus rinds and they feed the rest of their food waste to one of their friends who has a little piglet. What are the benefits of using all natural cleaning products? There are so many benefits to using natural cleaning products, so I'll list one of my most valued. Natural cleaning products like ours are free of chemicals, harmful synthetic fragrances and additional preservatives. Our laundry soap is a great example and it's is important to make the connection between the soap you use and the effects that that soap can have on your body and your health. Unfortunately the soap that we wash our clothes with stays in the fibres of our clothing and our skin is very much affected by these chemicals. I have had customers contact me who are thrilled that their skin is no longer sensitive and their conditions like eczema have drastically improved or are completely gone. This is a great example of how gentle and safe our ingredients are. Where can one find your products?
