The Met Gala was last night, but I feel this is way more important (contributor Dana Mancini will have the fashion scoop for you on Friday).

Jimmy Kimmel was off unexpectdely for a week after his son was born with heart disease and had to undergo open heart surgery shortly after. Kimmel teared up as he told his viewers what went down during his opening monologue. He mentioned the importance of health insurance and for America to come together regardless of the party for the sake of young children with illnesses so that they'll have a fighting chance. He wrapped up the monologue individually thanking all of the people who helped get the Kimmel family through the tough times and who continue to support them. Watch it for yourself below:
