Hamilton native and NHL player Zac Rinaldo is as good as they come and never forgets where he came from always doing his best to have a positive impact on others. An example of this is the event he is hosting this summer - Hockey Night in Hamilton. It's taking place on Saturday, July 14th in support of Food4Kids Hamilton to fight childhood hunger. It will feature a charity hockey game with former and current NHLers and there's a chance to get autographs following the game for VIPs. I was lucky enough to have the chance to chat with Zac ahead of this event. Check out our Q&A below: What inspired you to host this event? To simply do something for my city that no one did when I was growing up. A night to meet your favorite hockey players and raise money for kids in our city that have no food. I want kids to have every opportunity to be the best they can be. . I always give back to my Community How has Hamilton influenced you on and off the ice? Hamilton is home. My life is here. My family is here. My friends are here. It’s made me one of the hardest working players in the league. Seeing how down to earth people are in my city and how hard people work in my city makes me want to do the same thing. Why should people come out to Hockey Night in Hamilton? To come support kids that have no food for their family and that are starving in our city. They need the most and I’m hosting this event to put food in kids hands so they can be given a chance to do and be what they want in life. |
