Kodette LaBarbera is clearly pretty special, hence why she's being featured in another blog post (see the first one here).
The first half of the second season of W's Hockey Wives has aired and it is definitely more intimate than the first season. Kodette said that there's more of a focus on family this time around. Known for her charity work, we got to see Kodette in action at her charity golf tournament which gave us all of the feels. If you do not recall, her son has Autism so she gives a lot of her time to raising awareness and supporting families in similar situations. She said that doing charity work has help her come into her own and have her own passion since being married to Jason LaBarbera. It also helps that has an amazing wing woman who tells it like it is - fellow Hockey Wife Tiffany Parros. Kodette and I chatted about how we sometimes need a nice kick in the butt to bring us back to planet earth. I think I can relate to Tiffany as I'll tell you what you need to hear versus what you want to hear. I cannot stress enough how much of an inspiration Kodette is and it is amazing that we get to see her story play out. Even to see mothers of children with Autism share their stories in the comments sections of interviews she's done. It gives you a reality check and you realize that there's people out there struggling - and more than you think. Hockey Wives will return with new episodes in March. |
