My life and workout routine forever changed when I discovered a JJ Dancer Method video via POPSUGAR Fitness' YouTube channel. Celebs like Jenna Dewan Tatum, Tracee Ellis Ross and Nicole Scherzinger swear by the JJ Dancer Method. It was created by Jennifer Johnson and is perfect for those with a dance background like myself since your doing dance moves that could easily be performed on stage or even in the club. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to chat with one of the trainers, Sammye Alix who has worked for companies such as Apple, Mattel, Nike, and Skechers. He is also JJ's right hand man, and has been seen with her on E!, CosmoBody, Dancing With The Stars, Pop Sugar and MTV. He also travels with JJ internationally to places such as China and the Bahamas to perform and assist with fitness projects, celebrity training, choreography, and other exciting endeavors in health and wellness. Check out our interview below: What makes the JJ Dancer Technique unique? The JJ dancer Technique is unique because people of all ages can easily and effectively enjoy the workout. Its not your typical cardio-and our dance and twerk moves are one of a kind. Not only is our playlist always new and fresh, we come up with signature dances that keep your heart rate pumping-and we incorporate circle bands as well as resistance bands to tone your body and booty like no other. You are a celebrity trainer and a professional dancer - how are those two the same and/or different? Being a celebrity trainer is different than a professional dancer in the way that I control the class, the moves, the music, and feel of the session. It's less pressure and the celebrity client looks up to me to motivate and help them with their goal. It can be the same because they both rely on dance background and experience. Do you have any tips on how one can maintain a healthy lifestyle? The tips I have for maintaining a healthy lifestyle is to do your best and never quit! Drink tons of water, load up on veggies, eat your protein and stay active. Find a workout that you enjoy and stick with it. You can accomplish anything you put your mind to!
