Time for another fun Q&A!
This time I had the chance to chat with actor Jake Raymond about a few of the many projects he's working on as well as what advice he has for aspiring actors. Check out the Q&A below: You've been pretty busy promoting Ashes. Why should people go see it? Indeed, it’s been an incredible journey so far. ‘Ashes’ has a lot of heart and one of the biggest notes from audience feedback thus far has been in complimenting the chemistry between the four main characters. I have been so grateful for this because the film was made to create an acting opportunity for myself and my best friends (Sara Mitich, Craig Arnold, Tanya Bevan). As actors, we face so much rejection, I wanted to create an opportunity for all of us to work together and do what we love. I am so happy that our real life friendships resonate on screen and have created characters that the audience can relate to. You will also be appearing on Salvation - can you tease your role? ‘Salvation’ is one of the best sets I have ever been on in my life. I got to work alongside Charlie Rowe and Dewshane Williams, two phenomenal actors that I have a great deal of respect for. The three of us play friends at MIT. Our director, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, was so generous and gave us a lot of freedom on set. This really allowed us to find the fun in the friendship of our characters. What advice do you have for both current and aspiring actors? Never stop chasing your dreams. We are constantly faced with so much rejection but we have to keep pushing forward. Know that you are not alone and it’s okay to feel down sometimes. It is so important to keep doing what you love and to do everything you can to make your dreams a reality. Join forces with your friends and make a short film; or a feature film if you’re crazy like me haha… but keep pushing forward. Your successes are right around the corner and they will always over power the struggles. |
