#TrendingTuesday: Meet "The Real Rihanna"

So the Rihanna that we've come to know and love is an imposter.

Well not exactly, but that seems to be the case in the latest issue of Vanity Fair featuring Rihanna on the cover and a very real  interview discussing her abusive relationship with Chris Brown and casual sex (yes, she went there). Personally, I'm not a big fan of "imposter Rihanna", and have mixed feelings about "real Rihanna".

When addressing Chris Brown, she said that she got back together with him (even after be brutally beat her) because she wanted to protect him. She thought she could change him (unless the person wants to change, it ain't going to happen). Rihanna said that she felt people didn't understand him and that she just wanted what was best for him. Ugh. I understand that you can't judge a person's actions or decisions unless you're in their shoes, and it is a tricky situation. It's just frustrating to watch someone put themselves through so much pain, even after knowing and facing the consequences. Again, not my life, it's Rihanna's. Who am I to judge.

When talking about casual sex (I can't believe I'm actually writing about this), she said that she feels empty doing the deed without any substance. However, she doesn't necessarily need to be in a relationship with the person, just as long as she cares about them and knows that they care about her. No arguments there. How the interview got to talking about sex, I have no clue.

Rihanna also reflected on what she looks for in a man that she would like to commit to ("a very extraordinary gentleman with a lot of patience") and much more.
