Celebrity mentalist Bobby Motta has received rave reviews from some of the biggest stars including Al Pacino, Mike Meyers, Russell Crowe and Nelly Furtado. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to do a Q&A with him. Check it out below:

How does it feel to be called "one of the top mentalists on the planet" by the New York Times? 

It feels good but I try not to let my brain sit on that statement for too long. I like to maintain my focus on providing my audience with the best show no matter the New York Times wants to call me. The day I lose that focus is the day I move on to something different. And I don’t think that day is coming in this lifetime. 

What are some common misconceptions about mentalists?

Some common misconceptions about mentalists are that they are hypnotists or mediums. Mentalism is under the umbrella of magic but most people do not know what a mentalist really does. In short, a mentalist is someone who creates the illusion of mind reading, clairvoyance, divination, recognition, psychokinesis and mind control. To sum it up it’s magic and illusions for the mind.
