Holy crap was that ever a show. One that appealed to viewers under the age of 25. Seriously. Beyonce, Rihanna and Katy Perry were no shows, but that doesn't mean that there's nothing to talk about. Let's start with the usual red carpet/fashion hits and misses. JLo looked hot all night; Carrie Underwood looked like a princess; and Gigi made a skanky look work. On the other hand: Z La La (don't know who the eff she is) looked interesting; Gwen Stefani was just I don't even know; and Selena Gomez looked like she was wearing a Christmas shower curtain. Hits: Misses: JLo hosted and opened the 2015 American Music Awards and let's just say that her performance skills are more memorable than her hosting skills. Instead of singing, she opted to dance to all of this year's hit songs including Uptown Funk, Anaconda, 7/11, Hotline Bling, Thinking Out Loud, Bitch Better Have My Money and more. Check it out: Though there were many performances, so I will only address the ones that count (in my opinion). Selena Gomez looked flawless as she performed Same Old Love featuring huge ass disco balls and tap dancing dudes. Meghan Trainor (so much for a one hit wonder) performed with Charlie Puth and finished it on an unexpected note. I puked in my mouth. Following the performance, Charlie claimed that they're just friends... I don't think friends do this: Alanis Morissette and Demi Lovato killed You Oughta Know. Celine Dion payed tribute to Paris and the rest of the world by belting Hymne de L'Amour. Fans had the chance to geek out when a scene from the latest Star Wars movie was screened followed by a special performance by Pentatonix and a live orchestra. The most anticipated performance of the night goes to Justin (ugh) Bieber (ugh). Continuing his return to the music spotlight for the right reasons, he had the opportunity to close the show with hits from his new album Purpose. Because there were a ton of performers, there were a ton of presenters including, Taylor Lautner (he's alive and well), Diddy (does he still go by that?), Gigi Hadid, Kylie Jenner, Tyrese + his adorable daughter, Paula Abdul, Donnie Wahlberg and so many more stars that made me happier than almost all of the performers put together!
And now.... I saved the best part for last... The winners and losers! T-Swift was MIA so it was anyone's game. The big winners were The Weeknd and Nicki Minaj winning two awards each. A disappointment was definitely Ariana Grande winning Favourite Female Pop/Rock Artist. There are some many great female artists and they picked her? Grrr. Like I said before. This show was for all of the teenie boppers out there. For a full list of winners click here. Did you tune into the 2015 AMAs? What were your fav moments? What made you cringe? I just wanted to give you a quick little update. As you have probably noticed, my blog hasn't been active in over a week. I have decided to take some time for much needed rest so that I can be 100% on for 2015/2016 award season. www.saverinascozzari.com will be up and running again on Monday (November 30th) as award season officially kicks off with a brutally honest recap of Sunday's American Music Awards. My interviews from #HamFilmXand an interview with #HockeyWives star Kodette LaBarbera will be published at that time. Hope you all understand and I'll see you in a couple of weeks! - Saverina It is so unfair that we have to wait a month until the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show airs even though it's actually going down today.
I am so very envious of all of the bloggers, personalities, and whoever else gets to see all of the action from backstage before the rest of us. Since you and I aren't at the show today, let's discuss who and what we can expect to see this year. Model BFFs Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid are making their VS runway debut and above you can find an exclusive look at what they're wearing. Kendall Jenner is pulling away from the Kardashian-Jenner family's reputation and making a name for herself. It's nice to see that she's earning every bit of her success versus some of her family members who's names I shall not mention. Gigi Hadid is a shooting star, so you can expect to see her wherever life takes you. Kendall and Gigi will join the rest of the VS clan including Adam Levine's wife Behati Prinsloo and VS angel Alessandra Ambrosio. The VS Fashion Show isn't only known for the models; it's also known for its hot performers. The show will be a tad bit empty without Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande (she can be at peace knowing she won't be in jeopardy of getting hit in the face by (VS) angel wings like last year). The Weeknd, Rihanna and Selena Gomez will be providing the entertainment and I don't have a doubt in my mind that they won't do well. Similar to last year, I will be watching the show when it airs on December 8th with a decent size bag of Doritos feeling bad for myself. Will you be tuning in? Comment below or tweet me @MissSaverinaS! Justin Bieber is taking over the Ellen show for a week ahead of his new album release on Friday.
Today marks Day 1 of his co-hosting gig, and I don't think it went too bad. I have to say - I kind of like the new and improved Biebs. I couldn't stand him from the day he made his debut, to the day he left the music spotlight. Now he seems to have come back to planet earth with a better attitude and perhaps even better music. Justin discussed everything from what to expect when his new album enters our lives to his confusing relationship with Selena Gomez (I have mixed feelings about those two being together. They're too toxic for one another.) We shall see what's to come on the next four shows and whether or not this new album will be a huge disappointment. Are you a belieber? Comment below or tweet me @MissSaverinaS! Never in a million years would I have thought I would spend two hours doing interviews at the Hamilton Film Festival opening night gala. And I can't tell you how great it was to have people approaching me to do interviews versus the other way around. There's only one person to thank for that.
Founder Nathan Fleet is super on top of things and always willing to help you out. This year I had HUGE shoes to fill as the usual interview guru Katie Uhlmann stepped down after 6 years and handed me the mic (more on her + TWO interviews with her, her mom and her editor later this week). Nathan went out of his way to introduce me to all of the filmmakers and sent them my way for interviews. I still haven't watched back the footage so let's pray for the best. I dragged my dad along with me to play camera man for the night and couldn't be more grateful for all of his support and time that he puts in. It's always an adventure with him. Be sure to check back here everyday for exclusive interviews (pray). See y'all tomorrow! |
